District 200 School Community,

As we approach the start of the school year, we still have openings for Teaching Assistants (paraprofessionals). With some changes at the State-level, it’s much easier to obtain a short-term (3 years) Paraprofessional License. Interested applicants must have a high school diploma (or equivalent) and be at least 19 years old. This is a GREAT opportunity, especially for someone to explore the field of education as a career or even for college students who are working toward a degree in education.

The following universities have programs that allow students who are pursuing a degree in education, to be able to work in a school as a paraprofessional while they are in school themselves:

Being a paraprofessional is such a rewarding experience, and these individuals are vital members of our school teams. Each day, a paraprofessional makes a difference in the life of a child, as well as that of a family, and school community.

Interested candidates can apply for Teaching Assistant positions on the District website

Additionally, a presentation and video on how to apply for the Short-term Paraprofessional Approval Process are available. Please contact the District 200 Human Resources Department with any questions at human.resources@cusd200.org or 630-682-2000 with questions.

Sincerely,

District 200
