Yesterday, the Wheaton North High School Cheerleaders took a break from their summer camp to give back to the community. The team spent time volunteering at the Northern Illinois Food Bank, and packed 3,790 pounds of food, which provided 3,159 meals for local families. The entire month of June is recognized as LGBTQ+ Pride Month. Pride Month is celebrated each year to commemorate the anniversary of the Stonewall Rebellion in New York City on June 28, 1969, which is considered by most historians to be the birth of the modern LGBTQ+ movement.
