Mr. Erik Aister comes to District 200 from Oswego East High School where he currently serves as the Assistant Principal for Student Services. Mr. Aister is replacing Dr. Alexia Ellett who is moving on to become principal at Lake Park High School’s Senior Campus. Prior to his current role, he taught and served as the Department Chair for Special Education also at Oswego East. Mr. Aister also has experience coaching track & field and football. He earned a B.A. in Special Education from the University of St. Francis, and an M.A. in Teacher Leadership and Principal Certification from Concordia University. Mr. Aister’s hire is a coming home story as he is a graduate of Wheaton Warrenville South High School and his mother served as the Department Chair for Special Education at Wheaton North High School.
Incoming Wheaton North High School Principal Dan Korntheuer is excited to welcome Erik Aister to the team at Wheaton North. “Erik is a product of District 200 and has many connections to our community,” said Korntheuer. “Throughout the interview process, he demonstrated a student-first approach and enthusiasm for teaching, learning, and student growth. Erik will have a tremendous impact on Wheaton North High School.”
Mr. Aister is looking forward to this new leadership position. “Wheaton North has a reputation for excellence in supporting all students to reach their full potential and I am grateful to be a part of it,” said Aister. “I am looking forward to building strong working relationships with our students, staff, parents, and the community.”
