The Board of Education has posted the following revisions to policy. These revisions will be posted for 30 days of Public Review and Comment.
The proposed policy would replace the exiting Policy 2.250. The Illinois Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) has been revised. The revised Act includes several changes to the procedures and time lines in responding to public information requests. In addition, it requires a public body to identify a FOIA officer. The Director of Communications currently serves in that capacity for the District. This replacement policy formalizes that duty as well as addresses the changes in the law. The other procedural changes of the Act will be addressed in the Policy's administrative rules.
