Madison Elementary School Mission:
The mission of Madison Elementary School,as a community focused on the needs and dignity of children, is to ensure thatall of our students become self-directed learners, to empower them to beproductive and successful citizens as they acquire the knowledge, skills, andprocesses necessary to meet the challenges of the 21st Century. Our schoolstrives to meet our mission by: providing a safe, clean, nurturing environment,actively challenging and involving learners, meeting individual learningstyles, providing a variety of educational experiences and technologies, andinvolving and valuing the student, the family, the community, and the staff ofour school.

Madison Elementary School History:
Madison Elementary opened its doors in1964, under the leadership of principal Mr. William Stone. Following the tenureof Principal Stone, Mr. Gene Sikorski began his tenure as Madison's principal, serving 23 years. Duringthat time, Madisonwas renovated and expanded, providing additional classrooms, two largegymnasiums, an updated library-learning center, an art room, a music room,conference rooms, and other support areas. It now encompasses 7 acres with anadjacent park on its western edge. Upon Principal Sikorski's retirement in2009, Madisonwelcomed its third principal, Mr. Tim Callahan.

The Madisonschool community includes approximately 440 students for the 2013-14 schoolyear and is one of thirteen elementary schools in Wheaton/Warrenville CommunityUnit School District 200. There are four middle schools for children in sixththrough eighth grade and two high schools. The total student enrollment of thedistrict is over 14,000 students. Students living in the Madisonattendance area will attend Edison Middle School and Wheaton-Warrenville South High School.
